May - 10 Photographs

Sprinting into summer like a squirrel on a bench.

Without going back through two years of galleries it’s hard to say for sure, but I think that this month of ten pictures has more animals than any three other months of photographs - and none of them are our cats. It also features two countries, Spain and Germany, but that’s not too surprising. I can think of three other months with images from Spain, and Germany’s always present, for obvious reasons.

Not a single picture with water, which is a surprise. With the weather in Berlin turning towards summertime I’ve been taking lots of canal walks and taking lots of canal pictures. But none of them made the short list for May. Too many goats, I guess.

Ten things about 10 pictures, May 2025 (in no particular order)

  1. I had no plans to take this picture, I just thought the bench looked nice in the sun.

  2. Who knew pigeons get fluffy when it rains?

  3. Men who stare at goats, or the other way around?

  4. Kitty-cat showdown. An accord is reached.

  5. I have never seen a house more suited to a Bond super-villian.

  6. Little Spanish roads, and low Spanish homes.

  7. More goats, maybe the same goats?

  8. Roosters on Mallorca crow at cocktail hour just as much as they do at dawn.

  9. I may not have my studio much longer, but the walk through the cemetary is a delight.

  10. Not a super-villian home, at least not on first glimpse.
